Alot of Pat’s paintings are for books, magazines, and trading cards. Some of the paintings are from worlds that Pat has created, much like an author creates another world with words, her’s are in paintings. This lets the viewer form their own questions and answers about what is going on in them. Even though she creates worlds that are unknown, she keeps realistic elements in the paintings to give the viewer something about it that is familiar. Creating these paintings start with detailed sketches and many hours of referencing photos to spark the initial ideas. Then she paints either in a mat acrylic or starts in oils and finishes the details in oil. Check out Pat’s Illustration website to see the history of her painting career.
